Why This Blend

On days your thoughts won't stop and you feel too spacey to feel grounded, what helps isn't lifting your mood — it's anchoring your awareness to the weight of your own body. A trio of slow-evaporating, heavy base notes — Benzoin, Patchouli, and Vetiver, shared with Grounding in the HSP series and Sheep14 in the Sleep series — forms that foundation. Vetiver in particular has preliminary research behind it, with reported changes in brain wave activity in studies on inattentive states, giving real backing to that "feet on the ground" feeling.

A small amount of Rosemary clears the drift of floating thoughts — some studies have found a correlation between blood concentrations of its main component, 1,8-cineole, and both the speed and accuracy of cognitive tasks. Cananga's warmth adds a soft roundness, and Bergamot Reggio keeps the blend balanced so it doesn't sink too far into heaviness.
