“I'm not doing anything in particular, but just being at a station or a shopping mall wipes me out.”
Many HSPs feel exactly this. You haven't exercised, and you haven't done any mentally demanding work. You simply “were there,” yet by the time you get home you're completely drained. This isn't about effort or getting used to it — it comes from a real difference in how your nervous system receives information.

An HSP's nervous system has a trait for “deep processing” of sensory information (Aron, 1997). This isn't about sensing more sound or light than other people — it's that each piece of incoming information gets processed more deeply and from more angles.

You don't need to process everything in your field of view, or every sound you hear, equally. Simply fixing your gaze on one chosen point — your destination, or your feet — can reduce how much information you take in.
Build Recovery Room “Before” and “After”
Deliberately keep time free of other plans, both before and after being in a crowd. Scheduling another errand right after a crowd only adds to the backlog of unprocessed information.
Treat Being Tired as the Expected Outcome
