The Day I Let Go of Urgency, Scent Was Quietly Holding Me Up
― A "Slow Down" Signal I Felt as an HSP ―
Early in the new year, I noticed a subtle unease out of nowhere.
Like the flow of the air had shifted, like the overall pace had eased.
Within the HSP (highly sensitive person) spectrum, I'm the type who instantly picks up on the atmosphere of a room.
And that sense was telling me something.
"It's time to pause, right now."
A Day in Tokyo, Overwhelmed by the Senses and by Information
Right around then, I had plans in Tokyo, and headed into the city for the first time in a while.
Enjoying exhibitions and walking around during my free time, my mind and body were running at full capacity.
Sight, hearing, smell — every sense was flooded with information, and I could feel my sensors wearing thin.
My hearing in particular is very sensitive.
So in a crowd, I can never go without earphones.
Blocking my ears, I kept withdrawing entirely into my own world just to keep taking everything in.
Noticing My Own Urgency
The next day, I made a decision.
I decided to start over completely on the storefront site, which had been nearly finished.
Deep down, I already knew.
"I'm rushing."
"I'm trying to catch up with someone."
But admitting that scared me.
Still, that day, I was finally able to be honest with myself.
Starting Everything Over, Held Up by Scent
The moment I made the leap and decided to "start over," something strange happened.
Everything that had been moving smoothly on the Dutch, Linde side suddenly came to a complete stop.
But I didn't take that as a bad sign.
If anything, I felt like the world was telling me "now is a time to stop."
During that stretch, I tried a FUUKA aroma every single day.
Without doing anything special, the scent quietly settled my breath.
I could feel my mind being held quietly in place, through that sensation.
Trust Is Something You Grow Without Rushing
After a while, I heard from Rico on the Linde side.
I learned he'd been working behind the scenes the whole time, trying different approaches to get things to Japan as affordably as possible.
What I sensed was the feeling behind his words.
I naturally picked up on feelings that were never actually put into words.
And things started moving again.
Everything moving forward exactly when it needs to, at exactly the pace it needs to.
I can feel that, in my body, right now.
Energie kent gelukkig geen taal :)
This is a message Rico sent me, in Dutch.
"Thankfully, energy needs no language."
I couldn't help but reply, "Don't put that kind of pressure on me (lol)," but
the feeling behind those words sank deep into my heart.
He's the founder's son.
Someone who has lived alongside that scent since the day he was born.
That's exactly why I feel that single line carried something beyond just business.
Right Now, I'm Living at the Right Pace, Alongside Scent
Right now, I'm able to make the choice not to rush.
Not out of urgency, but the choice to move by trusting my own sense of things.
Scent is a presence that quietly holds that choice up.
To you, reading this,
if you're feeling some kind of unease right now—
don't force yourself forward. Try taking one deep breath instead.
I'm sure the sign for your next step is in there somewhere.
