"Something about that place just wears me out" — that might not be all in your head.

The [Space] No.18|Field Reset mist is meant for a quick spray on your space or clothing. This essential oil takes it a step further — a more concentrated version for when you want the scent to last longer.

What Is Geopathic Stress?

This phenomenon is called "geopathic stress" — environmental stress with geological origins. The idea is that underground water veins, disturbances in rock strata, and electromagnetic environmental factors can concentrate in specific locations and affect how the people there physically feel. Rather than a spiritual concept, it's better understood as one hypothesis that tries to explain, through environmental factors, that sense of "why does this one room make me so tired?"

One thing that helped popularize this idea was a 1929 survey conducted in Vilsbiburg, Germany. Researchers investigated a cluster of homes with unusually high cancer rates and found that all of them had been built directly above underground water veins — which drew attention to a possible link between housing and health. Since then, the concept has continued to be discussed in Europe within the context of alternative medicine and environmental health (*note: this is not a medically proven theory, and remains a hypothesis).

HSPs are said to pick up on subtle environmental information more readily than most. Field Reset was created to sit alongside that feeling — the kind that's often dismissed as "all in your head," but that you can genuinely feel.

Why This Blend

Atlas Cedar forms the foundation — a wood used since ancient Egypt in temple construction and ritual, whose main component, cedrol, has been reported in studies to increase parasympathetic nervous system activity when inhaled. Patchouli deepens that weight further. Lemon, Eucalyptus, and Clove join in to work on "settling" the air itself — Eucalyptus in particular owes much of this to 1,8-cineole, its main component, which has been the subject of numerous studies related to easier breathing.

The finishing note is Palo Santo — a wood long used in South America to clear a space, and one that has also found its way into medical and caregiving settings abroad. In Dutch care facilities, Palo Santo room sprays are sometimes used to reset a room after saying goodbye to someone important, trusted as a scent for "shifting the air of a space" even in moments beyond the everyday. The warmth of Cananga and Blue Chamomile adds softness on top of that.

The Difference From the Mist

This essential oil is built on the same blend as the mist, but concentrated — without alcohol or any other non-fragrance ingredients. Beyond diffusing it or using it with an aroma stone, just add 1–2 drops to an aroma sticker and you can wear the scent anywhere a mist isn't practical — on the train, at the office, wherever you are.

Ways to Use It

  • In a diffuser, to slowly settle into a new room or a space you've just rearranged
  • On an aroma sticker, for the moment you feel worn out by an unfamiliar place while you're out
  • A few drops on a dish of salt placed at the entryway or around the room, to settle the whole space

Who This Is For

  • Anyone who tends to feel tired for no clear reason in certain places
  • Anyone whose room feels unsettled after moving in or rearranging
  • Anyone who wants to honor that sense of something being off about a space, even when it's easy to write off as "just in your head"

How to Choose Between This and No.10|Clean Energy

This is often compared with No.10|Clean Energy, another scent in the Space Care line — but they address different kinds of "heaviness."

  • No.10|Clean Energy: For temporary heaviness tied to a specific event — a crowd, guests, and so on. It suits refreshing the air after coming home or hosting visitors. Think of the cool, crisp scents of Juniper and Sage as a sharp, bracing reset.
  • No.18|Field Reset: For an ongoing unease tied to a specific place itself — a room right after moving in, or a seat that never quite feels right. It supports the time it takes to settle into that space. Think of the deep scents of Atlas Cedar and Palo Santo as a slower process of easing into a place.

As a rule of thumb: if it's heaviness left behind by people or events, reach for No.10; if it's the place itself that feels unsettled, reach for No.18. Plenty of people who notice both use No.10 for hosting guests and No.18 for a specific space, like a bedroom or study.
